Participation in Kilgour Sports by Non-Kilgour Students
Some parents have asked if non-Kilgour students can play on Kilgour sports teams. The answer is yes per the KSB policy shown below. Please note that this policy has been in place for years and is not new. To ensure that Kilgour students have priority per the KSB policy, we're going to have registration deadlines for every sport. During the registration period, anyone can submit their registration form, Kilgour and non-Kilgour students. The Kilgour students will receive registration priority based on the time/day that they submitted their form. Non-Kilgour student registrations will also receive a time/date stamp but will be held until after the registration deadline. If there is space available, non-Kilgour students will then be added to a Kilgour team. Kilgour students that submit their registration forms after the deadline will be added to a team only if there is space available. So please, submit your registration forms before the deadline. Softball, Baseball and Soccer all have a Friday, January 27, 2012 deadline this year. Again, this is the same policy that Kilgour has had for years. It's only in the past few years that Kilgour sports have become extremely popular in the local community and so we need to follow our policy to ensure Kilgour students receive priority on Kilgour teams. Go Mustangs!

KSB POLICY: Participation by Non-Kilgour Students – Current Kilgour students shall be given priority to participate on KSB sponsored sports teams if they register prior to the established registration deadline. Subject to the specific sport league rules and if space permits, Non-Kilgour students may be offered positions on such teams, but will be placed in a "waiting pool" until all registration periods expire. There is no guarantee that any students will be able to participate on KSB sponsored sports teams even if they meet a registration deadline.

Kilgour Baseball
Kilgour's spring baseball is just around the corner. Boys and girls in grades K-6 are eligible to play. Cost is $40 for Instructional League (born after 5/01/05) or $80 for Knothole League (born after 5/01/2000 and before 5/01/2005). Please note that we offer a $5 multi-child discount for each additional sibling playing the same sport. Fees cover league fees, field rentals, equipment and uniforms. Players will need to supply their own cleats/sneakers and ball glove. All registrations must be submitted by Friday, January 27, 2012. Look for registration forms to come home with your child shortly.

Girls Softball
Kilgour will have a girl's fast pitch softball team this spring for girls 10 years old and under (10U) through Norwood Knothole. If there is sufficient interest, we may have a softball team for 12 and under (12U). A registration form will be sent home with your child this week. Please look for it, as the registration deadline is Thursday, January 26. The cost is $60, which can be completely offset by selling Norwood raffle tickets (raffle ticket information will be provided on the registration form). The season has 14 games that run from late April to late June. Practices start in mid to late March. Players will need to provide their own cleats/sneakers and softball gloves. Norwood Knothole will provide all other equipment. The girls had a lot of fun last year so JOIN THE FUN! Please contact Liz Koch at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
