Carnival Volunteer Needs 2011-2012 PDF Print E-mail

 

We need some help for this year.

All Roles

• Attend 4-5 meetings throughout the year for planning. Most of those from Jan-May.

• Have a "learning meeting" with current & previous Carnival chairs to learn the job

• Work in your booth the day of Carnival (May 19)

• Party with the rest of the committee the night of the Carnival.

 

Chair of rides/games

• Have a "learning meeting" with current & previous Carnival chairs to learn the job

• Order rides & games

• Coordinate layout with Carnival Chair

• Coordinate games & prizes with the Redemption Chair

• Get games out of storage unit a few days before. Check all of the games for missing pieces, broken stuff, etc. Determine which booths need signs and create them.

• Be at the school Friday, May 18 for setup

• Carnival Day – all day to collect tickets, troubleshoot problems, etc.

• Put games back into storage.

• Count tickets to understand which games/rides were most popular.


Coordinate Signs & Tshirts

• Have a "learning meeting" with Carnival Coordinator to learn the job

• Responsible for Yard signs, banners for day of carnival, booth signs for sponsors and t-shirt creation/ordering.

• Tshirts:

o Coordinate with Race Chair for artwork

o Coordinate with Sponsorship chair for sponsors art

o Order tshirts

o Create tshirt order form

o Collect/collate orders from classrooms and deliver tshirts.

o Setup tshirts sales booths a few times – spaghetti dinner, maybe w/other events like Music concert, food order pickup.

 

Join the Raffle Committee

• Help the coordinators with various Raffle related work such as:  counting tickets and money, coordinating the kickoff assembly, organizing the prizes for the children that sell the most tickets. 

 

Bake Sale - shadow the current volunteer to take over next year

  • Have a "learning meeting" with current Bake Sale person to learn the job
  • Coordinate the bake sale items being donated.
  • Carnival day - booth setup, work the booth. 

General Help

• Help with hanging posters, building baskets, running copies, passing out yard signs, etc.
