SEPTEMBER

Open House: Come to the school and visit your child's teacher and classroom.  Look for sign up sheets for class parties and school activities!

Entertainment Book Sale: This is the first fundraiser of the year. 

COSI: The Center of Science and Industry (COSI) brings a hands-on science experience to the school. Volunteer to assist the COSI demonstrators by guiding students through exciting activities. Each year COSI presents a new theme.

Clubs: Kilgour provides many fun and exciting clubs such as Art Club, Keyboarding, Spanish Club, Drama, Choir, Band, Rollerskating and Newspaper. Most clubs begin in September, and you will receive additional club information in your child’s backpack.

OCTOBER

Costume Parade and Parties: For children K-3, our Halloween festivities include the traditional costume parade on Herschel Avenue, followed by a classroom party.

Harvest Jam: For our intermediate grades (4-6), we host a party in the courtyard or gym.

NOVEMBER

Kids Vote: The students get a chance to see how the electoral process works.

Food Drive: This is our annual canned/boxed food drive. Proceeds benefit MEAC, the Madisonville Education and Assistance Center.

“Building Futures” Silent Auction Event : This event is an adults-only evening fundraiser. We provide hors d'oeuvres, music, and fantastic items on which to bid. You will have a great time, support Kilgour and start your holiday shopping all in one evening!

Fall Clean-up Day: A Saturday spent raking leaves and sprucing up the school grounds.

DECEMBER

Book Fair: A Scholastic Book Fair is held in our library and students have the opportunity to purchase books and other items.  Proceeds support the Kilgour library.

Giving Tree/Toy Drive: Each year we come together to support those in need. A “Giving Tree” is located in the front hall with ornaments marked with specific support needs. Boxes also are located in each classroom to collect toys and books for charity.

Winter Music Concert: Festive concert performed by the band, choir and bell choir.

Holiday Parties: In-class party coordinated by the room parents

Secret Santa Shop: This event provides a Secret Santa gift shop for students to holiday shop for friends and family.

JANUARY

Ski Day: This is the annual ski day at Perfect North Slopes.

Rollerskating: Enjoy skating and socializing with students and parents on 3 winter evenings at Beechmont Rollarena.

FEBRUARY

Everybody Counts: Help with this annual in-class program that educates children on various types of special needs and disabilities.

Bowling Club:  Intermediate students (grades 4-6) enjoy two days of bowling after school.  Dates TBD.

Valentine’s Parties: In-class party coordinated by the room parents

MARCH

Spaghetti Dinner and Book Fair: Come eat, dance, and socialize at our annual Spaghetti Dinner. During the evening, visit the Scholastic Book Fair and Kilgour Spirit Shop.

APRIL

Carnival Raffle Sale: This is the kick-off to our annual Carnival fundraiser.

Spring Clean-up Day: A Saturday is spent sprucing up the school grounds.

MAY

Flower Sale: Plants are sold and the proceeds support the PTA. 

Spring Fine Arts Night: A night of music and art provided by our students.

Kilgour 5K Run and Carnival: One of our biggest fundraisers and community events of the year! The weekend begins with a 5k run on Friday and an all-day carnival on Saturday. Fun for all ages!

Field Day: A day of physical fitness and fun for the students. Volunteers are needed to help with each of the athletic stations.
